For covered interstate cargo claims under the Carmack Amendment, a carrier may not provide less than 9 months to file a claim and less than 2 years to bring a lawsuit after a written claim denial. Other contract or shipment-specific requirements may still apply.
GracePoint tracks written acknowledgment of a proper cargo claim within 30 days. If a claim cannot be resolved within 120 days, GracePoint tracks the need to provide a written status update and reason for delay while the claim remains pending.
